about

With "Lost & Found", Carsten Stiller aka Alarmen doesn't follow the sound, that shaped the latest releases of the project. Instead, this concept work is used as an opportunity to explore new processes and techniques, combine them in sound collages and layer them to atmospheres. The "Lost" part of the release is based around recordings, that were lost or unconciously given away on old answering machines and dictaphone tapes. The tapes were now purchased by Carsten on flea markets or on the internet, just to bring them to new life as the spark to each and every sound of this track. On the other hand, "Found" consists of sounds, found deep in the devices - from hardware synths and effects to software on both PC and mobile devices - already in use in the Alarmen studio but this time in new approaches.

To further back the concept of the release, it is published in a strictly limited edition of only 20 numbered copies on micro cassettes (including download). To make the recordings available to the majority who likely doesn't own an appropriate playback device it is also available as a digital purchase via audiophobs bandcamp page.

Not only the format, but also the release day was chosen with intention. 31.03.2001 - by the day exactly 20 years earlier - was the first public appearance of Alarmen: Then together with Ramon Schmidt (aka Betriebsdruck), Carsten simultaneous performed his first concert (as support for Proyecto Mirage at the legendary Bahnbetriebswerk Arnstadt) and published the first release "Alarmbetrieb" (Neuhaus13).
